However, this AIO printer is not able to properly detect the documents' sizes and scan them as appropriate. The Brother printer broke down and I purchased a replacement Brother MFC-L5900DW. ![]() I scan large volumes of letter size (8.5"x11") and legal size (8.5"x14") documents, and having a scanner that can detect and properly scan the documents was very helpful (meaning that when a batch of letter and legal size documents were placed in the ADF at the same time, letter size documents would not have an extra 3 inches of empty space to "compensate" for the legal size). The AIO printer was useful because it was able to automatically detect the sizes of the documents placed in the feeder and scan them appropriately. I had an AIO/MFC monochrome laser printer for a small business, specifically the Brother MFC-8910DW.
